Paul Norton was appointed to the Board of Directors of NewRe in April 2023.

His professional expertise spans over three decades in the insurance industry in Switzerland as well as the UK where he commenced his career at Price Waterhouse (now PwC). Subsequently, he spent nearly six years at Zurich Financial Services in several roles, finally holding the position of Group Head of External Reporting.

Furthermore, he was the Head of Corporate Development and Capital Management at the Winterthur Group, before joining Helvetia Insurance as its Group CFO in 2007. In that function, he was responsible for all aspects of financial management of the Helvetia Group including reporting, controlling, tax, investor relations, risk management and capital management.

Paul Norton holds a degree in History from the University of Reading and is a Chartered Accountant and member of the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales). He is involved in a number of charities and offers strategic and financial advice to not for profit organisations.
